Gas Bubbles
Many gas bubbles keep forming in the sand up against the glass. If I stir the sand up they slowly float to the top. If I stir the sand up away from the glass, I do NOT get any bubbles. The sand along the glass does get some small amount of indirect sunlight. It looks like there is a little red-cyano an inch or two down in the sand.
What is that gas? Do I need my sand stirrers to take care of it? Current Aquarium(s) Description: 10G Fresh 1G inside the 10G & 29G BioCube FOWLR Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: Years with Fresh, new to Marine

I have that too. I just leave it alone. I wouldnt stir the sand

That gas is the end result of the nitrogen cycle.Its nitrogen.Shows that your sand bed is doing its job.

cyano always releases air bubbles when touched. It is normal. Don't worry

Sounds like dinoflagellates. The bubbles are o2.

I'm glad were all in agreement. Seriously, I'm thinking the bubbles are a by-product of the cyano because they only form against the glass.
