20 to a 55 gallon switch

Ok I did it today I switch from a 20 gallon tank to a 55 gallon tank...
I am working on getting some t5 lights but right now I only have a 24" power compact over one side. I custom built the stand to fit my needs. I have a sump that is a rubbermaid container. I had the tank drilled with a 1" bulkhead and 1" pvc piping. I have a quite one pump for return. I am going to use the 20 gallon as a fuge hopefully by the end of the week. I also built the canopy. I have a clown, chromis, yellow tail damasel, and a black stripe damasel. I have tubro snails, a queen conch, blue leg hermits, a cleaner shrimp, two feather dusters and an emerald crab. I have a pumping xeaina and a cabbage coral. I use a prism skimmer and have two power heads on the system.

Looks like a pretty good start to me.
Congratulations on the bigger tank.

Re: 20 to a 55 gallon switch

Where would be the best place to put the skimmer. In the sump or the fuge?

Re: 20 to a 55 gallon switch

I'd put it in the sump.

I'd go with the sump too - if you put it in the fuge you will be sucking up all those little critters that thought it would be a safe place to be and turning them into puree not good for them, the skimmer, or the water...

Congraats on the larger tank. Looks like the switch over went well. Love the last pic. Great color.
