Looks like the start of a new tank......
And I don't even have a new tank yet! I am on my way to pick up 120lbs of live rock, I just picked up out of the local bargain hunter. He was asking 300, I got him down to 200.....$1.66/lb. The previous best I've ever found up here was 6/lb

Re: Looks like the start of a new tank......
(Don't shoot the messenger).
If you are picking up live rock (LR) and you don't have a tank to put it in --it will soon be dead rock and worth a lot less. LR is considered 'live' mainly because of the beneficial bacteria but also because of beautiful Coraline algae and other little creatures attached to the rock. If you let the LR sit around and get dry all that stuff will be dead and you will have to let the rock slowly become live again, e.g. "cure it". but if he puts the rock in a trash can full of saltwater with a heater and a circulation pump itll be fine

Re: Looks like the start of a new tank......
Exactly, I wasnt' going to just let it sit dry. Either way, I went and looked and it really didn't do it for me, even at the price. If I'm gonna do a 120, I'm gonna do it right.
