Success with Pod Pile
Months ago I took 6 to 8 pounds of white branch coral (pieces no more 3 inches in length) and put them in a pile in the back of my tank. The spaces between the rocks were too small for pod eating fish. I was hoping the copepods, amphipods, etc. would breed like crazy and they have. They have covered the glass so much that I have to use my Mag-float to scrape them all off. I have a dottyback that eats them but he can't keep up. (A BAD dottyback that has nipped all my coral banded shrimp's 6 antennae in half! I've given my shrimp permission to eat the dottyback.) Also there is plenty of phyto-plankton for the pods to eat.
