wow a sea urchin!!!!!!!!!!

i got a rock half covered with green zoas and guess what. there was a sea urchin the size of an inch on it in. as soon as i turned of the lights, the urchin ran loose and is now hiding somewhere in the 12 gallon of water i have on my desk. should i hunt him down and flush flush flush or should i keep this sexy urchin. i also have a very tiny mantis shrimp hiding somewhere, but im hoping he will die soon.

if it is a mantis it will not die it will probally kill everything else. try to get a pic if you can, urchins are good algae grazers i would keep it.

Re: wow a sea urchin!!!!!!!!!!

Since the urchin is small, I'd keep it, but try to trade it to the LFS when it gets bigger.

Re: wow a sea urchin!!!!!!!!!!

Your biggest worry is the mantis. It could cause more trouble than the urchin.
Just watch the urchin. You'll be surprised at just how fast they grow.I found a tiny(barely 1/4inch)long spine a couple of months ago.Now he's close to 1&1/4".

Your mantis will not die, as you hope. Those buggers are survivors.
