Re: DF puffer, blowing sand

well im going to add some nassarius snails (probably spelled that wrong) soon to the sand bed, probably gonna be useless with the puffer, but maybe i can add enough so that he can eat some and some will make it in order to stir my sand bed a bit...... we'll see!

Re: DF puffer, blowing sand

what about bristleworms? do they stir the sand bed? i know they populate fast so maybe they could reproduce fast enough to get a head start on the puffer.

what do you guys think? good sand stirrer for a tank with a DF puffer?

Re: DF puffer, blowing sand

Bristle worms dont do much for stirring the sand. The tend to borrow through it instead. And the puffer probably wont eat the bristle worms.

Re: DF puffer, blowing sand

Yeah they won't stir it super well but they definitely do sift it a little bit. They are great to have, just not the best for that task. They are kinda like multi taskers because they also eat detritus and are good scavengers that way
