Sand cleaning

This may sound like a dumb question, but what is the best way to keep white argonite sand white?

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 165g Reef, 50g sump w/fuge, Metal halides. 75g Planted Freshwter.
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 4yrs

With sand sifters. Narcissus snails, conchs, maybe gobies or brittle stars. A wrasse will bury itself in the sand at night and could turn over some sand.
