Re: My Clown Committied Suicide

I wonder if there is any science on why certain fish leap. I noticed the Purple firefish and other closely related fish are known to jump through even small holes in the cover and thus require tightly covered tanks. Escaping predators? But then my clown had no predators in the tank.

You are a plague, and we... are the cure."

Escape is the primary reason for fish to jump.Sometimes its just a reflex action from being startled.

Re: My Clown Committied Suicide

I've noticed in my tank nearly all my fish will react to being startled by swimming really fast, bolting around the tank, and even jumping. Something as simple as me making a quick movement in front of the tank will do it.
