Best 'Organic' Phosphate test

I read somewhere that your really want to test for organic phosphate (and not inorganic phosphates) in your tank. Is that right and what is the best phosphate test? I've generally been using API tests.

You are a plague, and we... are the cure."

Re: Best 'Organic' Phosphate test

The kits you buy only test for ortho-phosphate(inorganic).They dont pick up the organic kind that fish and coral produce. For that,I think a photometer is needed.

Yote is right on there. If you have algae growing you have phosphates, that's my test kit.
