Clam movement

This may sound crazy.But my clam wont stay where i put it.
Do they normaly move where want to be?

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 125gal SPS tank in the works
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 2+
Other Intrests: Hunting,camping,fishing

yes they can move themselves. what type of clam is it and where are you trying to place it?
