strange stuff

I have noticed some new growth on one of my live rocks. it appears to be pinkish in color and has a texture of velvet w/ little transparent tubes shaped like mini volcanos. does anyone have a clue what this is ? or have I finnally gone over the deep end of the reef ?

Re: strange stuff

That sounds exactly like a sponge. Is it found mostly on the underside or shaded parts of your rocks? Reef safe, don't worry about it.
