Here is a picture of how I have the fans set up. Again, they each cost about $6 or $7 from Walmart and managed to drop the temp in my tank by almost 10 degrees.
 Oh, and this is what I came home to tonight:  Yes, those are all little air bubbles from cyano. Nothing I can do but wait it out, it's to be expected after setting up a new tank.
