Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

that is some nasty cyano. Ever thought of Chemiclean? might help. I know you are not a fan of adding stuff to your tank unless you really need it. Looking good tho, kiddo.

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

Wholy crazy cyano! Looks kinda trippy tho, lol. Question for you all great/powerfull biffmeister:

I've yet to see any spikes in my new 125 gallon. I transferred as much water as I could from my old 72, moved as much sand as possible and all the live rock, of course. Is there a slight chance I could skip a minicycle?

I wish I could see a massive tank like yours inperson. After seeing mine set up, unless you have something to show the scale the pictures just don't do it justice. Love your tank setup BTW. I hope to be as knowledgeable one day as you are.

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

Pretty soon this build thread is going to need its own forum with sub-forums, haha. Way to go Biff.

BTW, I can't wait to see all the live rock in the tank, as I am sure you can't wait either.

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

Yeah, I just might have to pick up some Chemiclean tomorrow, LOL! And some peppermint shrimp!

Richey, you can skip a minicycle. I've yet to see any of my levels spike in my tank (ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are still at zero). Just because you don't see your levels spike doesn't mean that you are not going to have to go through the seemingly obligatory algae outbreak two weeks in though! It seems this happens every time someone moves to a new tank, or adds new lights. Both of which I did.

Plus, not having a cleaner crew really sucks and I'm sure is not helping things one bit. I probably have a total of 10 snails in my tank, but A) the place I tried to order my cleaner crew from has been unresponsive so far, and B) I wanted to wait to MAKE SURE that my tank wasn't cycling before I added a cleaner crew.

Oh, and just so you guys don't forget, be sure to visit "Reef's 210g. Journal" when you're done reading this! You won't regret it!

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

Even with free shipping, the number of animals I was going to order was going to be WAY more expensive from Etropicals than from Geothermal Aquaculture Research Foundation Home Page or Reefermadness Home Page.

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

No, I haven't ordered from Reefer Madness before, but they have some excellent looking mixed frag packs (20 piece and 30 piece of mixed zoas, LPS, SPS, and ricordeas). I was going to order the 30 pack eventually.

Well,At leats you living up to your President job for the AFT,lol.

If you decide to use chemi-clean,you might want to move your xenias (if you have any) to a QT.The one and only time I ever use that stuff,it killed the only xenia colony I had at the time but didnt bother anything else.
