Oh, and he's probably taking the blender too. Which means no margaritas for me for a while .
God, you're telling me. The only things that get me through grad school are margaritas and my good friend Yuengling.

Damn shame about that blender...but there's always a six-pack of ice-cold happiness whispering your name at the corner gas station

edit: spelling and grammar. Yep, I is a PhD stoodunt.

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

That's pretty benign compared to what I get from a friend of mine who used to be in the Tulane physics doctoral program.

He had the good sense to get out after his M.S.

The only things that I've learned with any certainty in my three years of graduate school are:

all grad students become bitter, and the most idiotic people you will work with in your entire life will have PhDs. The two are intricately related, and cannot be separated under any scientifically controlled or rational set of circumstances.

Now I feel bad...I'm really not that bitter

It's just really easy to complain...you know how it is

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

Hey I was just reading the instrution manual for my new camera and this thing actually has an aquarium setting! Specifically for taking pictures of fish tanks! Good thing my tank lights are already out for the night, or I would have been burning the midnight oil, tearing that sh!t up!!!

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

I do not use the expensive epoxy from the LFS! I get mine at Home Depot, Ace or Lowe's. You can use any of the brands they carry as long as it says "Safe for Potable Water" and "Cures Underwater" on the label. It costs a fraction of the epoxy they sell at the LFS.

Superglue gel (make sure it's gel) works for gluing frags SOMETIMES. I have had much better luck with epoxy, but I use superglue gel for really small pieces. It cures underwater too.

Re: Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

LOL Awesome margarita machine.. it reminds me more of a lawnmower, since i havent seen too many pull-chain starter weedwackers. I love it though. Must be run on gas. (ewww)

Hey if you had not taken pics last night (not sure when actually) then you better have them the minute you have some spare time on your hands!!!! I gots to see that tank. Also those frags, you should wait on photos until friday actually. Maybe a preliminary one for the wait?

Good info on epoxy's Biff

Biff and I had the pleasure of talking about the subject of Grad students at the beginning of the semester at work - There is a cycle that all grad students go through. How did it go? Ecstatic -> Angry -> Bitter -> then they just dont give a dam. Right?
