Yours will start to change at about 5 inches and the change takes the better part of a year. They tend to start blending in the middle of the body at first and then the change starts at the snout and works its way to the tail.

I feed my guy every day. I switch up angel/butterfly portions from san francisco bay, emerald entree, mysis, squid and krill. All from SFB company. they are greedy little pigs.

I'm glad i made you dance doc. and no it doesn't bother me. the only think that bothers me is your massive abusive posting. these kind of self destructive tendencies are almost "borderline" I would say its about 3 inches. I'm excited doc and since I have taken the plunge, I plan on a blue ring aswell. I would love to compare notes. we have started our own angel krew! and I'm getting post count legitimately here :P

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

Ouch. two slams in one post, first calling me borderline and then legit posts. Wow. OK, try this on for size... Be careful with your Koran and adding a blue ring. I did that and they are too close in their juv coloration to match. They fight. The blue ring will win as they are super aggressive. The have the nickname "blue king angel". Even if you get a smaller blue ring, it will run the koran out of the tank. Don't do it. Blue rings are one angel that does need to be alone in a tank, unless it is SUPER huge. I am not sure a 180 is big enough. Legit enough?

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

hmmm well then the french? they are totally different colors. i was just thinking i would stay away from french since they are aggressive but it sounds safer color considered

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

One thing you can do is add a bigger, more passive angelfish. there are a few options. If you are willing to wait until the koran is MUCH bigger, you can get away (probably) with getting a juv french. Or, check this out....you can get an emperor (just cuz I kill them doesn't mean you will) or better yet, a blueface. I want to add one, but my Koran is too big and territorial for that now. Yours is the perfect size to put one in. Check them out, might be worth a look-see. you have the space.

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

are you talking about an adult or juv emperor? it was origionally the first fish i ever wanted when i started up. but juv. and my koran is close so i figured i fulfilled that need, why would the juv french be so bad? expecially if the Koran is already established dont you think that would carry some pull?
