Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

well if you didn't see in the may potm thread, my tank is kinda not doing wonderful. jack is gread, and excited about his new e-lover, but I have tons of hair algea a broken skimmer and bulbs that need to be replaced. I also need more snails and crabs. I still feel like i don't have enough... all in all there is nothing terrible going on just more frequent water changes and no idea what skimmer to buy with the current setup I have. my queen angel is beautiful to say the least but she is a humungus bitch. not to the point of killong another fish but its hard to warm up to such an aggressive tankmate even if its a really beautiful one.

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

Red, that is the curse of the queen. Well worth it IMHO. I would add one in my tank, but I am too fond of my blue angel and we have bonded, so... no queen for me. I will live and love them through you...

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

she isn't diggin it too much, but she gets so aggressive about eating that she tears jacks fins sometimes too. and that really angers me.

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

taking a fish out is easier said than done. there are only few people that have tanks to house these beautiful fish. besides I'm not at the point where its a danger and I'm still happy with my current livestock its not that bad. she is just a bit aggressive at times. and I love the queen far more than the emperor

Re: 180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

fins grow back quick. Jack will be OK.
As for feeding, do you feed in two different spots? To make sure food gets to where I want it to go, I drop it in both sides of my tank at times. the lionfish knows his spot, but the clownfish know the other spot. It might reduce aggression on the part of the queen if he thinks there is less competition.
