72" lights are going to be REALLY hard to find in the $500 price range, but you could probably do it if you bought a used fixture or did a bit of DIY. My 72" lights costs $1300 .

Re: LionFish's Journey to the Big Tank Club (Loads of pics)

if you have a canopy you could mount a few halide reflectors in there versus buying a fixture. that would save a few bucks. but, you will still be lucky to get everything for 550. those dang halide ballast are killer on the wallet.

Re: LionFish's Journey to the Big Tank Club (Loads of pics)

yeah the whole RETRO idea is what i was thinking !

The used market is ok too, I have found a guy selling Reeffreaks light kit for $725 shipped but i moved too slow for that one.

So far i have found 3 400W MH for $550
and a 1134 MH\t5 combo for $600 , these arent the name brand lights.

I have a friend that has the same light and has used them for well over a year with no problems so those will be a last resort Deal

You know I was messing around about your tank being only 210 gal. right?
Its still an awesome size and will allow you to do whatever you like(well almost).

I would just shop around and look for a good use lights.I haven't seen anything I could recommend for under $600.

The Aquactinics Constellation is about $700 without the bulbs.Let the new tank cycle without lights and slowly add the bulbs when you can.
