only if it is filled with water. Don't the overflows just pass pretty clean throw into the sump? I don't think there is enough water pooled up there to make it work. it would dry out and die

Nice additions and great looking aquascaping.Maybe that acro is a blue tort.
You have standpipes right,if so,then I believe you can put chaeto back there.Make sure it doesn't stop up the drain.

The water is about mid ways to on the U pipe

My lights on my tank.
I wonder how much is enough, The actnics hang over corners a bit

if not i could add a clamp on.... maby i should just hold off till i get a proper Sump/Fuge

Chaeto don't need much light.Even some indirect light could be enough.
