Re: Chaos's First Salt 20g

I use oceanic salt, all those levels are from the salt no additives

Re: Chaos's First Salt 20g

huh. oceanic tends to be a bit higher with DKh. weird. get your water tested from the LFS.

Re: Chaos's First Salt 20g

This is probably just from the photo but the structural integrity of those rocks looks flimsy. Is it fairly solid?

Its pretty solid, now that i have snails im a bit worried bout them though, hopefully nothing gets squished. About the dKh i needed to read the instructions a little more carefully its actually 8 as i didnt notice it still had a blue tint is 8 in the range?

Re: Chaos's First Salt 20g

8 is just a tad low. Most folks shoot for 9 to 12 DKH.
I'm using Oceanic salt too,and my DKH like to hang right around 14 most of the time.

Re: Chaos's First Salt 20g

I've always wondered....if having a dkh higher than 12 is better or worse for the tank. Also what if calcium is over 500? Just curious oh wise ones.

Re: Chaos's First Salt 20g

If it's red and looks like algae it's cyano! Kill it! Kill it dead!
