new tank

this is my new 55gal tank that i got from my from a friend for free.

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 125 gal tank
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 5 months
Other Intrests: love how corals look

Thats a lot of rock.

Are those halide lights?If they are,be extremely careful not to let any water splash on the bulbs.Or you'll have a tank full of glass.

yeah, those halides are AWFULLY close to the water !! be careful with them set up like that. if they are halides ... they HAVE to be heating the water ALOT.

it gets up to 82

Ya, 82 is creepin a bit high, get them lights up off the water and add a fan or 2 to cool off the water a bit, try to aim for 76-78 degrees...

I use two $7 clip-on fans from Walmart to blow across the surface of the water. I think they might help you with your tank too.

as yote said..theres a lot of rocks..a lot of aquascaping posibilities!!..is that tnk used to be for frags??..by the way..that was a nice gift!!
