Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

ok so today i had my first lost, my lieutenant tang died, he was finally starting to un-stress and then i found him towards the back of the tank in between two rocks covered in hermits and my emerald crab. i was really hoping this fish would make it because they are rare fish that i have never seen before

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

it was mostly my fault, i should have left him to die in the fish store tanks and not mine, hes fins were so badly torn because they kept him in a tank with huge tangs and he wasnt even two inches so its my fault and the fish stores

Take it as a lesson learned. Never buy a fish that doesn't look healthy. Sound s like you may need to find a new fish store.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

i have one that i love to go to and have never had a problem with and have never even seen my fish miss a meal from that store, this store was where i bought my tank from and they just had a big sale on everything and alot of people lost all there fish they bought from them during the sale and i think this was a left over from the sale and thats why it died.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

one of our LFS's had a big sale a couple weekends ago too, and we planned on getting our first fish at the time, but when we got there we realized everything was in pretty poor condition. I think when they gear up for these sales they are so busy and they overstock things and stock too quickly, creating less than optimal conditions for the animals, but they know that they will be able to move them because of the great prices. We ended up walking out with nothing, even though the prices were unbeatable.

Sorry about your loss.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

ok so more bad news, my orange shoulder tang stopped eating in my tank and started getting picked on by everyone and started having alot of stress spots it was getting bad so i quarantined him but it was to late to save him and this morning my mom called and woke told me that he was dead at around 7am. im very sad about him, he was an awesome fish to watch swim around the tank, so i had to replace him and the loss of my lieutenant tang because my tank just looked empty without them in it. i dont have any pictures of the replacement yet but i do think i am the only person on this forum with this fish. until i get a good pic of him ill just let you speculate on what it is, but ill be nice and give you some hints to ponder on. the hint is: biff once owned this fish but it died in her tank.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)
