in that setting ISO is set to auto and there is no way to change that, and i forgot to switch to macro, so thanks for the reminder on that.

i dont use the iso setting either i get crappy pics if that is on

Yep the faster the shudder speed the more crisp your action shots will be. You wont be able to blow them up as big without them getting grainy(at least with old 35mm tech) but they will be sharper in a normal size. The smaller the aperature number the more light you will let in throught the iris of the camera.

Dustin you will learn a ton more about the camera by taking several pictures of the same thing in the same light and use different camera settings. Write them down when you do it and you will quickly learn what works best in what situation.

Dustin look into a tripod or a set of shooting sticks. You are still letting in too much light, are you using a flash? If you are try it without.

flash is always off when i take aquarium pics
