Reminds me of a good quote.

Ummm... He just added nine chromis all at the same time, when his tank already appeared to be overstocked before the addition of the nine new fish.

Just sayin'.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

My only main concern here is that there are all these tangs in a 4 foot tank, however I can not personally see how the fish are reacting or what the water tests look like. I really hope you can make it happen with what you have for right now until you can upgrade. I wouldn't expect good results long term, however I do wish you luck.

I'm sorry I brought up the subject. You are on a reefkeeping forum where people are passionate about fish as much as people are with dogs and cats.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

I don't believe there is any reason to be sorry dom, I do believe there are always the time and place for things to be addressed. However the thing some of us can get carried away with sometimes is the whole bandwagon bashing of someone that just can get worse. I'm not saying you yourself said anything wrong. All I am saying is people respond very well to constructive criticism when compared with just telling them they suck at life. Being too harsh and rude to someone is only going to make the receiving party defensive and immediately be concerned with firing back and not think about anything that was said or suggested. So I don't think there is any reason to be sorry about calling someone out, it just matters the manor that some people choose to do it in.

Re: dustins first tank. 120 gallon(lots of pics)

Wow very ineteresting! I started in this hobby when I was 20. I made my share of mistakes as well, but I was also misinformed and not learning from the right people, you need people who actually care how your tank turns out. The best advice I have ever been given about reef keeping is to be patient and then be more patient. Dustin you have an opportunity that I didnt know about until a year ago and thats the help of the forums. I would definitly surround yourself with people that have been in the hobby a while and learn from them, do you have a local club? Seems to me like your biggest problem is one that we have all had and some still deal with, and that is that we want it not now but right now. Once you get past that or learn to control it, which a girlfriend or wife is normally willing to help, then you should have less problems adding fish. Problem is, if people give you advice and try to help, and you go out and do the exact opposite then you will probably tick someone off. Will you be upgrading?

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 75 gallon mixed reef, and there is not enough room to put the contents of my system.
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: I have been doing fish for 11 years salt for 5 years.
Other Intrests: Saltwater, streetbikes and tattoos
