Re: Doc's Shark Tank
I think I would have used silicone to hold down the trim. They use silicone from the factory because it will allow for the glass to expand. Glass changes size with temp. I would keep an eye on it.

That is a good point. I may attach it better with silicone. I have to check to see how solid it is after drying for the last several hours -Doc Current Aquarium(s) Description: 210 gal "Shark Reef" With Angelfish and 90 gal reef tank Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: long enough to know I have a lot to learn |

Re: Doc's Shark Tank
So, the Gorilla Glue seems to be holding. I ran a bead of silicone under the outside frame along the glass and black frame just in case. BUT...I still have a question...
How long do I need to wait for the silicone to "cure" (is that the right term?) before I change over the tank? I was hoping to set it up tomorrow. The silicone has been sitting since last night at about 9pm. I was planning on setting up the tank tomorrow at about 6pm, so just under 48 hours -Doc Current Aquarium(s) Description: 210 gal "Shark Reef" With Angelfish and 90 gal reef tank Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: long enough to know I have a lot to learn |

Re: Doc's Shark Tank
I'd let the silicone cure for AT LEAST 48 hours.Remember the fumes?Just because the outside has set up,dont mean the inside of the bead is fully cured.

Re: Doc's Shark Tank
48 hours will be fine. I think it says 24 to 48 and when I did mine I never had the patients to wait 48 so I went with 24 hours and no problems.
