Chaos' 75 Gallon Reef

Hey everybody, I haven't been on here for awhile so hello to everyone again. In my 20 gallon thread back in April I said i went up to a 75 but didn't make a thread because its temporary well yesterday I received some rock and made the tank quite pleasing instead of the plastic racks holding my coral closer to the light.

The tank has been running quite well since april with a large amount of growth seen on my red monti cap (well over triple its size). I admit I have not been keeping track nor checking the aquariums chemistry for a few of those months. I've had a slight algae outbreak but haven't seen any of the algae i really hate (i.e. cyano and diatoms) just a slightly annoying bubble algae and yes a coraline outbreak lol. Every other week you could not see through the front glass and i never bothered to clean the sides.

In the next couple weeks I will be building a few acrylic items for the aquarium and I will post my pictures here. I will be buildiing a skimmer It will end up being a 4 foot high single beckett skimmer. Also a new sump with chambers rather than my current tub of water that I only use to keep the water in the tank the same level.

Well here are the current pictures. The plastic eggcrate is only there to help transfer of coralline to the new rock.

Re: Chaos' 75 Gallon Reef

Cool. I just got my first monti plate! Probably about twice the size of your pic from your desktop and red. Cant wait to see some growth on it.

Re: Chaos' 75 Gallon Reef

Its under a 135 compact flourescent. They start to grow fast when they do start so you'll see plenty of growth i notice about 50% of its current size in growth every month
