What does a new baby head (sprout) look like?

I think I may have one but I'm not sure..
It's a small orangish-brown twig that is long but skinny...

Could be another branch.Even though they usually grow by the heads splitting, they can grow new branches kind like your describing.

Yeah, I know frogspawns normally split at the head, and can grow new branches. I was just wondering what they look like.

Anyways, how long does it take a frogspawn branch to develop after its sprouted?

The new buds look like tiny replicates of a full head. You should even see small polyps on them.It will take a long time,I'm not sure of the time frame but my estimate,6 months or more.I've only seen very few ever become normal size heads, maybe because so much of the light is being blocked.I have also another theory, the buds could be carried off by the current to form new colonies. If it does happen in the home aquaria,I've never witness or heard of them surviving.

Is this "sprout" part of the existing frogspawn, or did it show up on its own somewhere in the tank?

It's a brownish twig growing out of the base of another head's skeleton.

I had a hammer coral that had "sprouts".Each bud grew into a new head.
