Because I'm clever
Ok so I'm in a debate on taking in some free staghorn hermits 3 of them at that. I don't know if I want to or not just because I know how hermits are. They go every where you dont want them to be. (anti-visa) hahahaha. But yeah I'm just trying to think of the corals needs I don't know much about these hermits just wondering what you all feel about them. I mean when the new tanks is set up I'd feel better because It'd be more room and be just a frag tank. hmmm any help would be nice especially if any one has or have had them thanks every one:Cheers:

I dunno, live aquaria says they are difficult. They need a deep sand bed. They sure look awesome though!

yeah I know the say that Sarah but Just dont know on there real care because there are needs of 2 animals staghorn coral is a somewhat easy to take care of and hermits well hermits are cake work to take care of.
I'd guess that they are "difficult" on the account that the hermit is mobile and corals don't typically move from place to place. so the major care is for the coral over the hermit. hmm just wondering more so on the light it says on them low light but i know staghorn coral is a moderate to high light? it just seems like a contradiction to me hahaha. half the reason i would love to hear from first handers with theses amazing partners. so yeah if any one has had them please give me the 411 on what you have found out by having them thanks all.

Its actually not a staghorn coral that is on the shell, its a colony of hydroids, (not the bad kind) and they can be very difficult to keep the hydroids alive because they are filter feeders. I would suspect that the hydroid colony is dead by now and they are just regular hermits with an interesting shell. I would go ahead and get them.
