Howdy. I am looking to get a harlequin shrimp as my final livestock piece. I was wondering if I get my hands on 2-3 asterina stars, could they multiply enough to support a harlequin shrimp?

Also, where could I purchase the stars? I can't find any online or at petco.

Thanks!

No, the asterina stars wont reproduce that fast and even if you have a major infestation they will wipe them out in a few months.

Ok. I was talking with someone who told me otherwise. Can anyone else confirm?

+1 little_fish. The members who have kept them successfully (long term, not a couple months) have to buy starfish regularly to keep the shrimp alive and well.
