We actually had an outbreak of "Herpes Koi" that killed a ton of fish near us.

Carl Sagan said that probably all intelligent life follows the same pattern: their technology evolves until they discover the power of the atom and many other potentially dangerous technologies and then they wipe themselves out. Maybe this is why SETI has heard nothing after scanning the heavens. I hope Sagan was wrong but if he's right I suggest that we party hard in what time we have!
