How do you tell if live rock is really live, the reason ask is I have a yellow tang and I never see it eating off the live rock.

Live rock only means that it has the bacteria on it necessary to complete the nitrogen cycle. Live doesn't mean there are necessarily things on there for your fish to eat. Also, you may never see your tang graze on your rocks, mine never has.
