Ok, I am doing my 55 gallon in my man cave and will be storing my trash cans in my closet in that man cave. I plan on getting a 32 gallon brute to store RODI water and a 20 gallon brute for salt water mixing (plan on doing 10 gallon weekly water changes) and just bought a stage 6 RODI unit from...
Ok, so today I ordered the stand that my 55 gallon is going on and am preparing to get the things I need to begin cycling. I sold a bunch of stuff I no longer use and have some money coming to me. So I am going to lay everything out as to not make any mistakes and appreciate feedback as I am a...
Makes perfect since, now if I could find an adapter to hook a garden hose to my shower head I'd be set for an RODI system. My faucet is a weird faucet, no way I can use it for RODI....someone is bound to know of an adapter for this...That would make water changes easy and I could store the...
also, if I plan on mixing 30 gallons initially to start with in the tank, can I put the dry sand (not live) and dry rock into the tank, set it up how I want and then pour the RO/DI water into the tank and then mix the salt in?
Using all Dry Rock and Dry Sand, I am definately doing the shrimp. One question, that purple algae (forgot the name) does that appear over time on the dry rock or must it be introduced?
Any recommendations on type of dry sand? Will it become "live sand"?

yea thats a good idea, just do 30 gallons at fist and then 5 gallons at a time until filled. never thought of that. Think I will get RO/DI water from my LFS until I can afford a RO/DI unit
Ok, so as I mentioned before I am getting a 55 gallon tank and stand for free from an army buddy who previously used the fish tank as a snake tank (I made sure to specify that this is a fish tank and not a reptile tank as I have raised snakes before). It is not drilled or anything. I am not...
