I'm pretty sure if you go to Walmart you can get a Brinks timer. Basically you plug your light into that and the current time. Then you can set a time that you want your lights to turn off and on.
I would return it if nothing is blocked. If is has a silencer make sure the line isn't clogged. I would invest in a reef octopus protien skimmer. Well worth the money.
I was searching around for a t5 fixture and went towards aquaticlife t5 fixtures. There biggest lighting fixture they had was a 12x39watt t5 fixture. Thats only 3.7Watts per gallon. I dont want to go MH but any ideas about any other fixtures out there? Thanks
I have a NWB-150. Rated for 150 gallon. It works like a charm. It's about 19 inches high. I plan on using it in a 125 gallon in the future so I think that would be suitable.
+1 cathic, Yea i would get a in sump skimmer. Buy a protien skimmer that is going to work. Reef octopus Skimmers are very good. I have had two and they both work great.
Okay hopefully I can get a 125 gallon tank and stand for Christmas. Does anybody know were I can get them for a not very expensive price. I would like brown trim on the tank. Nothing really fancy and no canapy. Just the tank and stand themselves.
Absolutly not. You need at least 4 watts to the gallon to support soft corals. I would invest in an expensive t5 lighting fixture. I have a aquaticlife fixture and its great. Don't cheap out on a light it will come back and bite you in the butt.
For a 55 gallon I recommend a reef octopus nwb-150 if you have a sump. If not then I would go with a Hang on the back reef octopus protien skimmer. Get double or triple your tank volume.
I have a AquaticLife 4 bulb t5 light and it seems to do the trick on my 55 gallon. Don't cheap out on a light. Buy a light worth the money. T5's you can purchase different bulbs for better lighting spectrum. 4-6 Watts per gallon should be fine for a reef tank.
I used to use filter media that were designed for saltwater aquariums. I know canister filters are used mostly for freshwater but i have a c-530 Canister filter and my nitrate and nitrates are close to zero. I change my fliter media every 2 weeks and my water is very very clear. Ive had better...
