When my tank was cycling I got a lot of hair algae. I bought 5 turbo snails which seemed to do the trick. It was cool seeing the trail of clean rock behind them.

I agree! anyone want to buy the story so I can restock my tank? :mrgreen:

UPDATE: My yellow head goby did not come out as it usually does every night. It seemed strange since it has been eating very well. I looked around the tank and sure enough I found him dead behind a rock. Before I could net him out, I saw none other than ANOTHER mantis shrimp!!! Back on the hunt...

I have many many large Aiptasia in my tank, I would say about 20 quarter size or bigger! I bought Aitasia-X, If i "treat" them all do I need to worry about my water quality like other large anemone?

+ Thanks All, I believe you are all right who said the hermit did not eat the shrimp. Water tests all came back fine, but I think I may have done a poor job acclimating him. I acclimated the shrimp the same time as two cardinals I got, when I should have let him acclimate much longer.

The light system I use are 8 t5 bulbs, (4x daylight HO and 4x Blue dawn/dusk) plus 8 night blue LED moon lights. They are connected to three digital timers to keep lighting consistent.

Now that my Mantis Shrimp situation is solved, https://www.livingreefs.com/loch-ness-t26416.html I am planning on getting two coral frags tomorrow. Any suggestions?

I just ordered cultured rock from FL, I know it is risky using ocean rock, but I saved a ton of money! All of the LFS were charging about $9-12 a lb. and I have over 200lbs.. With the stuff I got, there was a lot of dead growth. Plus I did not use DI water at first, so that slowed the process...

Yeah its a small yellow tang, I also have a small blue hippo tang that you can sort of see in this shot. As for the large anemone, For some reason it has been moving all over my tank. It crawled into my filter and survived. I got tired of it going back up there so I moved it to the other side...
