metal halide bulb question

Hello, guys, need advice again. It was time to change my bulbs, I had a 10,000 k aqualine double ended, 150 watt(about a year old). I changed that bulb to a phoenix 14,000 k. I like the blue look better I think but the bulb doesn't look to my eyes as bright as the 10,000 k. I was wondering do I still have to worry about my corals being shocked by the new bulb? I have some window screen to use for a few days, weeks, if I do. Thanks in advance, Teresa

Depends on what you're switching to really.

And it's not just your eyes, 14K have much lower PAR and output than a 10K light does, 20K are even less.
