Well, I figured out that my ballast is M59, which is 400w, so I'm in the market for a used 400w bulb. I prefer used because if it doesn't work then I'm not out too much money. I bought some bulbs from Salfin, 175w 10k Ushios, so if someone was looking for a bulb or two, I'd sell them for the price I bought them, 30. They're 5 mths. old, but I'd also trade for a 400w bulb.

Thanks,
Alex

when I heard you got it from les, i kinda figured it would be one of those 400 watt fictures he had, I got rid of my last 400 watt bulb a few months ago. what size tank is it going on? thats alot of wattage unless its a deep tank.

It's a 40B. Not deep at all, but I think if I went 20k or a bluer bulb it'd be nice.

wow thats alot of light. youll burn anything you put in there. breaders are only 16 inches tall. you better hang that light real high off the tank. a 175 watt would be pushing it with that tank. just my two cents worth.
