I have just my live rock in yesterday, filled with life, from snails, crabs, feather dusters, barnacles and more. I noticed these red dots started popping up all over the tank and was wondering if you guys could ID it for me. I have circled the dots in my photo, promised to buy a camarea to take better photos.

Sorry, I don't see any red dots or circles in that pic. It may just be some coralline algae

I think I see what you're talking about. I'm guessing it's either red algae or coralline. Touch it. Is it soft and spongy, slimy or hard?

It does take a while for coralline to grow. If it's soft and squishy, then it's a nuisance algae.

Maybe it was already on the rock (hence live rock) and is coloring up under your lights. My guess it's coralline. I would take a wait and see attitude.
