ro system

Is it worth the money to buy a ro system or just keep getting my water from the local aquarium store which charge $4 for fresh per 5 gallons and $7 for salt water per 5 gallons.

IMO, it is well worth it.

I spent about 175 on an RO unit. I was spending 5 dollars a week for water. 50 cents a gallon for 10 gallons. 175/5 = 35 weeks. I have had the RO unit for almost a year. It is still putting out 0ppm water. I have saved money not only on the water, but also gas to get to and from the LFS.

any suggestion on which one to get

I purchased mine from bulkreefsupply.com. It was a bit more, but they are a wonderful company to do business with.

IMO it is worth it money wise, but also a pain. I don't know how many times I forgot to tur it off and had a overflow. For a big tank were you need alot of water then it's a must, but for a small tank then I don't think so. This time around with my 10 gal I'll buy water, but if I go bigger then I'll get the ro unit.
