    Need an ID

Yep, I found a good picture the looks just like them. Though, I've been reading conflicting things on the internet some sites say they're good, some say they're bad, others say only certain types are bad. Any clarification or should I just nuke 'em to be on the safe side?

    Need an ID

I've got this weird ballooning slug like thing. I've only found two of them so far, and they only seem to be out at night. The way they move is they balloon this appendage and use it to crawl around the glass. Any idea what it is? Pictures to follow.

    Gravel to Sand

What are you using for flow now? I had a similar problem, I found putting my powerheads opposite each other solved the problem pretty quickly, but that might not work in your case depending on how big your powerheads are/how big your tank is, ect.

    Camel shrimp woes

I'm a noob in this area, but would dipping the rocks in fresh water help? I know Inverts are really sensitive to ph/sg/temp so maybe you could leave the rocks in a "cooler" bucket overnight. It would kill any bacteria/pods/good things on the rock but it would take care of the shrimp and...

    Sponge?

They "appeared" within the last week. I didn't notice them but I've been getting home after the lights go off for the last few days.

    Sponge?

Ok, so I just noticed these...tubey things on one of my coral frigs today. Any idea what they could be? My guess is a sponge but I'm not sure. There are two growths. One is sort of in the upper right of the coral, the other is on the bottom left.

    Bebop's 29g Cube!

Update: The First Fishie! Terrible photo I know I know, but it's the best I can do. I fixed the problem I thought I might have via some egg crate, and this guys seems less jumpy than my last jaw *knock on wood*

    Apex Controller

I've got mine running pumps, heater, and lights. I'm only on a 29g Biocube with very, very limited space (no room for an ATO, no sump, no fuge >.<) EVENTUALLY I'll have somthing along the lines of a 180 and I'll use it to run all of the above + ATO, automatic water changes, automatically start...

    Lights in BioCube gave out?

It could be the ballasts, the bulbs, the fixtures, the wiring...A whole long list of stuff. If your Day lights will come on, you should switch the two bulbs to check if it's the bulb. If the bulb works, then switch the ballast and see if that fixture works with the working ballast. If it...

    A Living Reefs Compatibility Chart

I've had a hard time finding a good compatibility chart. All of the charts I find from a decent source (liveaquaria for instance) are terribly difficult to read. I recently found this one over at Petco; however, the 'compatible' stuff is different than several other charts I've seen (jawfish...

    Pests from ReefCleaners?

This is why I'm asking, no one seems to have ever had a problem. I'm just going to chalk the little guy up to being a good critter. I'd still recommend reefcleaners, it looks like everything I ordered arrived alive and in good shape, I ordered about 20 dwarf ceriths (amongst other things)...

    Pests from ReefCleaners?

Well it wasn't rock, just algae. And I'm not surprised that it would have pests, just surprised that I haven't been able to find anyone else who got pests from John (which is why I'm asking :D).

    Pests from ReefCleaners?

As a preface, I'm 99.9% sure I'm overreacting; however, i figure it's best to ask anyway. I just got my order in from ReefCleaners (yay!) I ordered most of my CUC and some Uvla, I followed his acclimation steps, but when I put the Macro in my tank little bugs just jumped out everywhere. It...

    Advice

You need to decide if you want to do Fish Only With Live Rock (FOWLR) or a reef tank. If you want a reef tank, then you need to figure out if you want to do softies, LPS, or SPS. This will all affect how you want to run your tank and what equipment you need. For starters, I'd do FOWLR...

Apex w/ Display Module & Std pH & Temp Probe & EB8 by Neptune Systems - $494.95 ReefKeeper Elite NET System V2 - Digital Aquatics - $427.49 The Reefkeeper Elite (net) is really only $50-70 less than the Apex, and the Apex can do more. The Reefkeeper Elite also does NOT do Sunrise/sunset or...

    Apex aquacontroller

Aquarium Controllers: Download Controller Comparison Chart About 4 years old, but it's still a good chart. From what I remember no one had a reliable nitrate/nitrite probe. They would also wear out really fast (salt water is nasty for corrosion). I think for two weeks you would be fine. It...

    Apex aquacontroller

ReefGeek > Equipment > Controllers & Monitors > Neptune Systems AquaController Both the lite and regular models can expand to 240. I have the regular version. I wish there were more probe options as well, but after all if the models I looked at, most of them don't offer anything other than...

    Apex aquacontroller

I JUST got the Apex, and I love it! It has made me a bit paranoid because I can actually see trends in my tank and alarms go off more than they probably should, but I'm very happy with it. Here's a quick comparison chart so you can see the differences The biggest reasons I stayed away...

ID - Pink algae? And possible Zoa help.

One of mine is doing really well, the other I think is ok. I just got new lights so hopefully that helps!
