It's been years since I got out of the hobby and just set up a tank late last year. This time I went for a smaller tank, 4 breeder. Used my old skimmer, aqua-c ev180, Koralia WaveMaker with 2 koralia 1200gph pumps, photon LED.
it's been over a yearand here is what I have done to my reef. I did a lot of cuttig and prunning in the past year and basically left with small colonies and this is wha I have after about 6 months.
Hello everyone. It's been ages since I've been here. Been very busy with full time work and full time school. But anyways, I will try to enter this month. My Missbared Onyx

3 inches tang is too big for a 40 gal. you need to get a bigger tank. but the measurement all depends on eho you're asking. technically in this trade/hobby fish are measure from the tip of the mouth to the bas of the tail fins not the tip of the tail. so if your fish is 3 inceh from mouth to...
I have a black cucmber in my tank for almost a year now and loved it. it keeps my sand stirred and clean. I also have a lot snails and crabs mixed, I think they are in the 200 range if I am not mistaken. I used to have a sea hare for a year but it died when I was on vacation and I never worried...
I have one in my system running GAC for phosphate and is hunting for another one to run carbon and chemipure on it. you can find a used one for 25 busks with pump.
you can keep the yellow tang but if you want to keep a tang longer I would get rid of it and get a Kole tang because they are the one's that grow slow of all the tangs. I would also suggest bringing one or two more friends with you if you decide to leave the sand in the tank. trust me it is...
it's been a while since the introduction of the juice to the droids and I have to say that they are now gone for good. I can now say that it works for me. I am not claiming that it will work for everyone but it sure does kill the hydroids in my tank.
It got blown away when I first added my seaswirl and koralias. but now that I have it all positioned right it should keep the sand from being blown away. It's been 4 months and I have been watching the tank and flow on the tank. So I am not worried about the sand being blown again. Thanks for...
I would only be adding it to the front of the tank beacuse all the sand that I have in the front got blown towards the back. as of now I would say that I have anywhere from 1/2 inch to an inch of sand in the front depending on where you measure it.
