Crushed Coral or Sand

In the process of setting up another smaller SW tank, I currently have CC in my 150 reef tank and was wondering what ya'll think of using sand vs CC in a smaller 65 tall...I will probably put a clown trigger and 1 or 2 more fish in this tank,,,no corals of course..will take all opinions...thanks

I have crushed coral and shells in my tank and regret it. Most of it has turned purple from coraline which makes it a little better, but I won't do it again. I feel like it limits the type of critters you can have also. There are a lot of cool sand dwellers/sifters that would probably do much better in finer sand. Good luck with the new tank!

i always tought triggers could do fine in a 100+ tank

just a quick search through a few sites say the req for them is between 100-125 min Gallon tanks
