okay so i just did my own durso.it quiet the gurgliung alot pretty much to nothing.but my question is is bigger the hole in the cap the more it will drain faster is this correct?

Maybe, but the bigger hole will just let more air into the line. If you don't have enough air getting in now and the flow is somewhat slow, making the hole bigger might help.

i notice i have more bubble going down the tube to my sump. if i stick my finger over the hole the water drops fast in the overflow.my water is also over the my 90 degree elbow that is facing down...

when i did mine, i started out with a small hole and added two more small holes one at a time until i was happy with the function of the stand-pipe.

When I built mine, I ended up not needing the hole at all. But then, my tank is drilled, and I don't use an overflow, so I don't know if the hole would be necessary with an overflow.
