light control system

Hi folks, we are designing a new led aquarium light fixture with automatic light control system but we're confused how to design the program to make sure good light change for corals, so we need suggestion from you, thanks in advance.:question:

I would look into pulse width modulation. Basically it turns on an off the LEDs really fast so they appear that they are dimmer. That way the LEDs give off the right specturm and PAR rating while they are on instead of just sending less volts to them to dim them. If you send less volts, they could have different properties regarding the spectrum. Ofcourse its been almost 10 years since I have dont any electronics like that so I wouldnt be able to help in much more detail.
