cooking rock

Reefing newb

Hello and Merry Christmas, i have some rock in my tank that are covered in (i forget what they are called) but they are pests and sting things, i was told to bake/cook the rock. how do i do it.

Cooking live rock means you take it out of the tank and put it in a container with saltwater. The container shoud be kept dark but it should have a powerhead and a heater. You leave it in there for a few months and just do water changes every few weeks. That should kill everything living on the rocks.

Or...boil it on the stove? That's what I did when I had a majano infestation. How would doing it like ccCapt said kill stuff like aiptasia and majano?

Lets move to Basketball..

I had some, I took it out and put it in the yard for a couple weeks. Then I rinsed it in warm water and scrubbed it some to get everything off. Worked good for that rock.
