hi all
i have just bought a used deltec microreef 100x50x50 cm
so thought id share a few pics with you
the rock i bought from york at £4 kg and got 32 kg
am running 4 t5s from d-d in 2 twin razors
the tubes are 2 aquablue+ 1 aquapink 1 actinic+ all 39w
the sump is deltec and the skimmer too
return is a eheim 1260
just after some tunze 6055s and a controller for movement
i have spotted a few hydroids on this rock and a aiptasia
will try to nipp them out before the tank starts going properly
the rock has been in a vat a good while having to recure it as there was quiet abit of die off from the chap i bought it of
also had to use lfs salted ro which i think was dodgy
so not sure if the rock has sucked nitrate and phosphate into itself
am planning on putting a maroon clown in here from my nano tank hopfully try to pair

I think the microreef is the baby in the line of there range

the maroon was my first fish in the tank
most of the zoas and palys came on the live rock
I bought small frags of eagle eyes morph,people eaters,fire and ice and fruit loops
theres also a encrusting coral on the rock think it may be some type of porites??
also some brittle stars from my old nano
pics of a uas floating scrubber am going to try






this pump went back was very loud and as tank is in my living room it was a going straight back



 
my 2nd fish is a cool little starry blenny a right little character and is always cleaning the rocks and glass all day long :)
am thinking on getting a pair of yasha gobies and a pistol shrimp next



plus my maroon loves the little blenny lol
he is so chilled out for a maroon clown
a lot say they are the most aggressive clown
mine is a right softy

bit the bullet today and got a small gold bar maroon clown to try and pair with mine
and so far so good
bought from a lfs it had abit of a beating from another clown and me and my little girl felt sorry for it so bought it :)
my clown has accepted it in his tank no probs
so time will tell to see if they will pair up
so fingers crossed



 
That's some good stuff you have going on, brother! Loving the pictures, so keep them coming. I didn't see a response to the neon green tubes (although I guess I could've skipped over it by accident..) but do you know what those are?

it just sprung up from know where
tanks been running a couple of months now
bought all the rock off a fellow reefer (30kg)
ive had a couple of aips off it (white hot screwdriver )
also got a few hydroids on it too
suppose that's the risk you take buying off someone else
the tank and rocks is swarming with pods (copepods and amphipods )
so can see a nice mandarin or scooter coming in a few months too
it took a couple of months to recure the rock cos there was quiet a bit
of die off on it
from were the chap had stored in a wheelie bin and must of squashed some softies in there and spiked the water bad :(
but I am a happy chappy now :)
and am slowly getting there
think am going for a goby next or a pair even ,I like the yasha gobies and pistol pairs you can get ,
the floating scrubber has only just been put in and so not much happening yet and cos of the low bioload I have, but am looking forward to some super turf scrubbing.
 
hi all :)
couple more things for my tank
the first was a yasha goby lovely little fish
2nd a flasher wrasse which has striking colours (beautiful)
3rd a tiger pistol to pair up with my yasha which it did in less the 24hrs:):)
BUT the pistol had a molt and must have struggled and then the wrasse hammered it
was gutted
now I love the wrasse but also want a pistol partner ship with my goby
so my wrasse may have to go
on my algae scrubber am not having much joy on growing turf in there
I started on 18 hrs and then 16 then 14 and still no joy
been on algaescrubber.net for some info and it seems the light is burning any growth:(
so its now on 10hrs and hopefully will start to produce for me:):)
