Also... this was in the bag with him... I think it was attached to one of his arms...
should I be worried?

It's missing the tips, but that's okay. They will grow back. :) It's a nice looking star! And I'm not sure what that was in the bag with him. One of his missing "fingers"?

I noticed... but I wasn't too worried. He was $3 at the LFS today and I knew they'd grow back so I couldn't pass him up.

I very briefly saw it attached to one on his arms (not at the end) like some kind of parasite... although I never really got a good look at it. Maybe it was never attached at all and it was just next to him...

You can kind of see it in the "drip" picture. The arm that's pointing to 5 o'clock, about halfway between the tip and the middle. That really, really blurry thing. :D

It could be one of his legs or just something that he was holding on to. My brittle star re-grows the tips of his legs often. Not sure but I think the engineer goby is nipping them off. I hand feed my star meaty foods. It's fun to watch him eat. After he gets something in his mouth (er...body) I can see it churning around. Once, he ate my yellow watchman goby :( and the next day, the goby's head, jaw structure and spine was floating around the tank. Guess he couldn't digest that part.

I have a brittle sea star with only 3 arms and two nubs :( so sad lol How long does it take for an entire arm to grow back?

Cool Star !!! Love these. I bought an orange one right after we set the tank up. Didn't see him for a long time, found him in the overflow. That spot between the outside part in the tank and the part that goes to the sump. He's still alive and getting huge !!

PRC totally just named it.
Henceforth, the starfish shall be called "Nubby".

He was in a tank with a bunch of other inverts.. crabs and such. I figured he was just getting picked on.
