The new mh have electronic ballast and work very well, same quality of coralife for a lot less, maybe even better than coralife because they still using magnetic ballast.

Give it a try, they are beautiful. I have a Holacanthus tricolor (rock beauty angel) in my reef, never have made damage to a coral, sometimes nip my brain but do not hurt him even some times my tomato clown nip it so try it if you have luc you will have a amazing fish in your reef to be proud...

Odyssea have change a lot right now is the same quality than coralife. Great fixture for the price.

what type of water did you use in your tank?

try feed less and big water changes of RO water, also chemi clean is great to eliminate the algae but if you do not fix the source of nutrientes you will see it again.

Try the odyssea ps75, great skimmer for low price. I have one in my 30g reef, Aquatraders:

You can run a 5g with only a power head, water changes do the trick.;)
