Converted saltwater to fresh, trouble keeping PH down...

Hi All! So I decided to change over my saltwater tank to a freshwater tank and now I cannot keep my PH down(7.0). I have a 65 gal. Red Sea Max 250 so all the pumps, filters etc are all built into the tank. Inside the tank and filter area we sprayed vinegar on the mineral deposits and salt...

    lighting question

The tank has been up & running fine for a year & 4 months. I try to do water changes every 2 weeks. Thanks BL1, I will be doing the water changes as suggested. For a true black out, I covered it in trash bags last night... I miss it already. Any idea what kind of algae it might be. The algae...

    lighting question

I have actually been running them for a while & was wondering if I should keep with them or go back to the previous or different all together. Shortly after putting them in I have been having more algea issues than ever. Could it be the new bulbs? It seems to be the only thing I have changed...

    What is this crab?

Thanks Smitty! He was a sly little devil that's for sure. I found him hiding in the rock trying to eat a snail & I'm sure he's partly to blame for the other empty shells I find. Thanks for the help everyone!

    Water change / Vacuuming sand?

Thanks for the reply. I do have a bunch of Nass Snails, hermit crabs, & an orange spotted sand sifting goby. Overall the sand looks clean but I did see a layer of algae in areas against the glass. Not sure if that’s normal but I scraped it away last night so I’ll she what happens. Thanks...

    Water change / Vacuuming sand?

The bottom of my tank is sand. When I try to vacuum it the sand is lifted and sucked up along with the water etc. I have been doing water changes by siphoning off just water & any unwanted stuff I see on the rocks. Am I suppose to vacuum the sand? If so how do I stop it from passing...
