This slimy green mess is taking over my tank and is covering rocks and sand. In a few places it is long and stringy and "billows" in the water column. what can be done with this stuff?

Hmmm. Maybe I am being impatient. I did start the tank with dry rock and only 3.5 pounds of LR so maybe its going to take a little longer to get what I am looking for.
I havent seen my six line in 3 days. Is this normal for them, to hide in the rocks for days at a time? He cant jump out and he was fine when I last saw him. I hope its alright because I cant see him anywhere.
I just cant seem to get any good growth on my screen. The setup is correct but I am getting slimy light brown to yellow stuff with a little green on the lower 1/3rd. Anyone have some thoughts?
I finally got a couple of pics of my new additions. I had added a six-line Wrasse last Friday and today got a Sleeper Green Banded Goby. That goby is fun to watch as he goes about sifting through the sand.
A monitor sounds nice but personally I would have to lean toward a means of controlling my tank. Most controllers have graphing options, and you can find some with email and iphone alerts as well as wireless capabilities. The cost may be higher but having my system controlled rather than just...
