Am I understanding this correctly, you have already added fish and a shrimp? I thought this was a new setup just a few days old. You must wait until your cycle has completed before adding any livestock. Have you completed the initial cycle on this tank yet? Search the forums here there are...

I will let someone else help with that one. I have run one from about the second week of the cycle and it always pulls brown juice, so as long as it is doing that I consider it a needed item.

I am assuming that the tank is new and has not completed its cycle. Refer to the following post about using a skimmer durring the cycle. https://www.livingreefs.com/forums/newbies-reefing/2766-cycling-question.html I used mine and the tank cycled well, but I also used about 40lbs of live rock.

:mrgreen: That can be a problem (bowfront). There are tools in photoshop that may be able to pull the iamge straight. You may want to give that a try, othere than that its a hit or miss situation. Keeping the camera as perpindicular to the glass(acrylic) as possible is the key.
