When I first started my aquarium that's what I did. I put all the water in and then mixed the salt in the sump. Worked really well. But now I have a CUC and two small clowns so I can't. Would it be okay to bring it up to 1.026? Or should I start with 1.023?

I have nearly 8 gallons of RODI water ready to go for my first water change. When I first started the tank in early September the reading was 1.026. It's now down to 1.023. When I make my new water, do I match the '023 or do I mix it up to the original reading of '026?

I did water tests today with new Seifert tests today and all came out 0, (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and phosphates). I read on another thread here that once you achieve that, you can do a water change and then add a fish to your tank. So, that being said, I have some, not a lot, of algae...

So today I noticed many white specks all over the glass, plus more white specks whirling in the water. Also saw larger white dots on the glass that I know must be pods, as I can see them crawling around. The white specks I believe are those tiny white starfish you see in tanks. Forget the name...

The reading I've done says you can't have fire fish unless you have a mated pair. Otherwise two or three fish will become one as they pick each other off....unless it's a mated pair.
